Meissa has signed an MOU with Kolon Global Corp. to establish a safety alliance. The aim is to introduce safety-related smart construction technologies on site to prevent safety accidents, improve the efficiency of safety management, and secure competitiveness in smart technologies related to safety and health. In particular, Meissa's platform service—which organically integrates its drone automatic control app, proprietary engine, and mobile application—was assessed as well suited to advancing safety monitoring and as offering strong potential for integration and expansion with other IoT component technologies.
In addition to Meissa, a total of five companies took part in this agreement, including MUSMA, OpenWorks, Woory Technology, U&E Communications, and E-Pyeonhan Automation Technology. The agreement is significant in that it builds a mutually beneficial, cooperative relationship between a construction company and specialized component-technology firms in order to create safer construction sites.
The smart safety technologies to be deployed on site through this agreement are: Meissa's digitalization of the site through drone image analysis and earthwork volume calculation via its platform; MUSMA's heavy-equipment collision prevention and asset management using IoT sensors; OpenWorks' integrated safety management and monitoring system for construction sites; Woory Technology's automatic measurement of the final penetration depth in pile driving; U&E Communications' AI-based on-site risk assessment technology; and E-Pyeonhan Automation Technology's AI-recognition pinch-point prevention system.
The smart safety technologies of the partner companies, including Meissa, will be piloted at each of Kolon Global Corp.'s sites. Using the data accumulated through these pilots, the companies plan to advance and refine the technologies and to expand their application in phases.
