The Meissa platform is a cloud service that runs in Chromium-based web browsers (Google Chrome, MS Edge, and others). Hundreds of high-resolution images and large files are all computed and processed on internet-connected servers, so no separate high-spec computer is required. As long as your personal PC or mobile device has one of these browsers installed, you can use the platform anytime, anywhere.
This kind of cloud-based IT platform service is advantageous for leveraging real-time dynamic data (CCTV, IoT) and for collaboration. In particular, now that smartphones are widely adopted, mobile applications integrated with the platform are expected to become a key element of on-site safety management.

It also presents a new paradigm for "collaboration," the area with the greatest potential to improve productivity on construction sites. In joint work between design and construction in particular, the difficulty of sharing design drawings has been the biggest barrier to communication efficiency. However, with the launch of the drone data platform, diverse datasets such as drawings, subsurface strata data, and cadastral maps can be overlaid—without any separate conversion—on top of digitized, up-to-date site information, which is regarded as having brought innovation to communication.

BIM stands for Building Information Modeling and collectively refers to technologies that integrate and manage three-dimensional information across a building's entire life cycle, from design through construction, maintenance, repair, and demolition. Because it can reduce design changes and construction errors through 3D process comparison during the design and construction stages in particular, BIM design is being actively adopted worldwide.
Korea, too, announced the "Architectural BIM Activation Roadmap" through the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport back in 2020, and is pursuing various activation measures with the goal of fully BIM-based design by 2025. However, the low adoption rate of dedicated software has become a major obstacle to putting it to practical use in the field.

In response, this past July Meissa patched and released a viewer feature on its platform that lets users view BIM designs without installing any separate program. Various BIM files already held by sites using the Meissa platform were uploaded and were praised as being useful in a range of meetings and communications. Then, on the 18th, alongside a large-scale platform overhaul, Meissa additionally released a BIM design feature that is aligned on top of a 3D point cloud.

With BIM designs aligned on top of drone data that is based on an accurate coordinate system and captures the latest site conditions, more intuitive three-dimensional process management and collaboration have become possible. Moreover, being able to use BIM data in a cloud-based platform service suggests the potential to drive a paradigm shift in which BIM is not merely a conceptual approach to conversion design but a communication tool between design and construction.
Through this alignment of BIM design data, Meissa is regarded as having narrowed the communication gap between design and construction and presented practical ways to use BIM at actual sites, earning a favorable response from the industry. Meissa is currently engaged in active discussions about the platform's development direction and plans to focus on the IoT-based safety management solutions that sites need most and on advancing BIM design collaboration features.
