

The Meissa platform provides a CAD drawing alignment feature so you can quickly catch discrepancies between design drawings and the latest site conditions. When you upload CAD files to the platform for this purpose, you may run into errors such as the drawing failing to convert or the drawing not fitting into its correct position.
These errors may stem from missing coordinate values required during the digitization of paper drawings, or from problems with points, lines, and objects located inside or outside the print area. Let's take a closer look below.


Orthophotos on the Meissa platform use a 1:1 scale in the metric system, and each pixel holds a single coordinate value. CAD drawings must likewise be created at a 1:1 scale in the metric system, based on coordinate drawings (such as as-built survey maps and survey result drawings), so that they are placed in the correct position at the exact size when uploaded.
If you upload a drawing to the platform without first adjusting its scale, there is a high chance that the file will fail to convert or that the drawing will not be placed in the correct position. Even a drawing with correct coordinates can end up aligned slightly off from the orthophoto if the wrong coordinate system—such as GRS80 or Bessel—is selected during the drawing-file upload step on the platform.

After a CAD drawing uploaded to the Meissa platform goes through the analysis process, it is processed into an image using either a raster or a vector method before being used. In most cases, the cause of errors during this process is the file size of the drawing.
When you want to align a drawing with a shorter analysis time, please clean up any information other than the drawing you want to view, such as contour maps, cadastral map data, and elevation values. Not only can you check elevation values, cadastral maps, and the digital surface model on the platform, but you can also work more quickly.
Also, when you explode a drawing made up of blocks, previously hidden objects may be revealed, or objects such as leader lines, arrows, and text may grow larger in scale. If a drawing containing such objects is uploaded, the drawing analysis is carried out at a size far larger than the actual site, which can make the upload take a long time or produce a conversion-failure message.

Objects that use points or lines containing a Z value, 3D polylines, or splines can be difficult to convert into an image. You don't have to delete all of these objects, but if an error occurs during the drawing upload, please delete information that is not essential drawing information (such as a person riding in a crane cam, or elaborate decorative details in an interior drawing).
If a drawing contains text whose justification is set to "Fit," it is difficult to analyze on the platform. The "Fit" justification feature automatically places text within a specific area. If the range the text is meant to fit into is lost while exploding objects, the text may be drawn across an infinite range during image processing of the drawing, increasing the likelihood that the upload is interrupted due to excessive server memory usage.
